Excellentes Restaurant, eines der besten, in denen ich gegessen habe. Das Personal ist sehr aufmerksam, aber angenehm zurückhaltend. Das Essen ist auf höchstem Niveau, aber nicht übertrieben abgehoben. Von dem 3 Gängemenu wird man richtig satt, es gibt auch zwischen den Gängen Kleinigkeiten. Um es vorsichtig auszudrücken: das Preis-Leistungs-Verhaltnis ist mehr als sehr gut. Uneingeschränkte Empfehlung! ~ Thorsten E

Echt heerlijk gedineerd met alle toeters en bellen en je wordt er heerlijk in de watten gelegd. Helaas konden wij niet buiten op het terras zitten maar binnen was het ook gezellig. Fantastisch personeel en het eten in combinatie met het wijn arrangement was echt top 👍maar hou er wel rekening mee dat je moet reserveren. Prijs kwaliteit is goed. ~ Jacqueline T

Waren zwei Mal dort essen. Die Gerichte sind von hoher Qualität und der Service hervorragend. Überschaubare Karte mit sehr guten Fischgerichten. Auch die Desserts ein Gedicht. Sehr angenehmes und entspanntes Ambiente. Wir kamen leider nicht dazu die Fleischgerichte zu probieren. Beim nächsten Aufenthalt in Madeira werden wir jedenfalls wieder bei Chris's einkehren! ~ Verena

Restaurant un peu excentre mais cela vaut le coup d’y aller. Loin de la foule mais cuisine raffinée et service au top. Cela change des pizzas, pâtes …. Et tout ça pour pas beaucoup plus cher que dans les autres restaurants. En plus discount si vous venez d’un resto de la place à côté s’il est plein. Un agréable moment ~ Marie D

Vårt favoritställe i Funchal. Allt har hittills smakat mycket bra och vi är också förtjusta i deras eget vin. Till detta kommer trevligt läge vid strandpromenaden och trevlig personal. Havsutsikten är underbar där fiskebåtar och valskådningsbåtar typ Santa Maria de Columbo stävar förbi i strid ström. ~ Kent B

Sono 3 ristoranti della stessa catena , ma hanno menù differenti , più una formula a 35€ tutto incluso. Ritengo questo il migliore dei 3 provati . Servizio veloce e cordiale , piatti più intriganti e meglio preparati . Gamberi e avocado in salsa cocktail, anatra al Madeira e tris di cioccolati. Scrivere sul navigatore l’indirizzo ed arriverete direttamente in un parcheggio a pagamento ad un metro dal ristorante. ~ Fabry68 F

Excellent restaurant on the Lido promenade which is owned by one of the most dedicated restauranteurs on the island of Madeira. Beautiful location with a lovely sea view. 5 star service from very friendly but not patronising staff that appear to be intuitively connected to the guest. I very highly recommend this establishment to everyone looking for fine food, a wonderful atmosphere and a memorable evening that would be difficult to match. From the entrance to the dessert including the complimentary dishes, everything was perfect!!! Book early, tables are hard to come by at short notice. Honestly, I’m not biased but a visit to Cris’s is to die for. ~ Chris S

Was echt heel lekker en goed verzorgd! We kregen allerlei extra’s en waren voor 2 personen 80 euro kwijt voor een hoofdgerecht, toetje, fles wijn en water. Hele fijne en spontane bediening en comfortabel zitten, mooi uitzicht! Eten was echt heel goed. Pirate fish met couscous is echt een aanrader en de zalm ook :) ~ Fleur v

Mein Geburtstagsgeschenk. Ich bin selbst Koch und nicht einfach zufrieden zu stellen. Hier war ausnahmslos ALLES Perfekt!!! Essen- Zubereitung, Geschmack, Innovation, Anrichteweise. Es war traumhaft gut. Jeder Gang, jede einzelne Komponente! Service - sehr freundlich, unaufgeregt und kompetent. Die Preise sind absolut angemessen Ambiente- sehr gemütlich und nicht steif. Cris’ was a phenomenal dining experience. My wife and I were on our honeymoon in Madeira and had yet to have that “blown away” meal. Cris’ was that meal. We were served complimentary sparkling wine, our servers were very attentive without hovering, and the manager/owner was a warm and welcoming presence throughout the night. Live violin throughout the meal created a lovely ambience, and the food was absolutely spectacular. The beef Wellington was fantastic, and the parrotfish was incredibly flavorful. From complimentary wine top offs to the manager taking euros out of his own pocket to ensure we exited the parking garage smoothly and without incident - we’ve never felt so well cared for from a restaurant and their staff. Can’t recommend it enough - if you care about quality and the art of hospitality, do yourself a favor and book a dinner at Cris’. ~ Jarrett E

Fabulous food, staff, location. Can’t praise it enough. From the moment we sat down til we left, it was amazing. We went for the specialty menu of €50 and it was worth every cent. Wines were superb. Presentation of food made it almost hard to eat as it was so pretty. Amuse Bouche of salmon and blue cheese in filo pastry and mango sauce set the scene for what was to follow. Warm olive bread, cream cheese and caviar. Starter of tiger prawn was fit for a king. Mango sorbet palate cleanser so refreshing. Parrot fish and mussels for main and very little room left for passion fruit sensation dessert which was another piece of art and tasted fantastic. Thank you for a wonderful evening. ~ Jetta B

Trevligt lunchställe, god mat och service. Beställde en tropisk sallad med stora räkor, jordgubbar, passionsfrukt, björnbär m.m. Mycket god och lagom mycket, dvs mer kvalitet än kvantitet. Det bli lätt att portionerna blir stora på många @ndra ställen. Fin utsikt dessutom med vy över havet. ~ Compy

Sehr leckeres Essen. Als Aperitif gab es den besten Gin Tonic, den ich jemals getrunken habe. Die Portionen sind nicht sehr groß, aber die Qualität ist hervorragend und das Personal sehr freundlich. Wir waren sehr zufrieden! Das Schokoladen - Trio zum Nachtisch war äußerst lecker sowie das Garnelen-Risotto. ~ Mel S

This restaurant is just phenomenal and it would be worth heading to Madeira just for dinner here! There was a bit of a mix up with our reservation (probably my fault to be honest), but we were found a table and sat in no time at all. The food is delicious, the service is impeccable and I would have no qualms recommending the restaurant to anyone and everyone. We all had the set price menu which also included paired wine with each course and we were very well fed and watered! This is the second visit to Madeira and the second visit to the restaurant and if I ever come back, I will be sure to include another dinner here! Thank you guys ❤️ ~ Lou L

Eine absolute Empfehlung! Wir haben sehr leckeren Fisch und ein super zartes Fleisch gegessen. Dazu gab es vom Haus einige Leckereien- wirklich top! Das Personal war sehr aufmerksam und extrem nett. Reservierung ist empfohlen- wir hatten Glück, aber wir waren auch vor der Stoßzeit da. ~ Nicole H

Thanks to All Staff For A Great Party Emailed booking from UK for a table for 6 (including 2 young children) on Boxing Day to celebrate a 70th birthday. Our family arrived to a beautifully decorated table. We chose the 37.5 euro option which is a drink on arrival and accompanying wines & water (plentiful) with each course. You chose from the A la Carte menu and all courses were excellent. Quality & presentation met or exceeded all our expectations. A wonderful & memorable night including a piece of cake with a firework on top for the birthday girl. They arranged a 6 seater taxi for our return to our apartment. We booked a table for 2 for a return visit a few days later and were very disappointed to have to cancel on the day, due to unforeseen circumstances. The staff could not have been more accommodating and we thank them for making our birthday dinner such an enjoyable success. We will certainly return to Cris’s on our next visit to Funchal. ~ E M

É um restaurante pequeno com capacidade para cerca de 10 mesas interiores o que o torna um sítio com privacidade. Menu: diversos pratos de peixe e carne empratados de forma especial e atrativa. Celebrated my husband's birthday here last week with friends whilst holidaying in Madeira. So glad I chose this restaurant based on good reviews. The whole evening was perfect. One of our party was disabled, but they allowed us to use the back door into the car park so that we didn't have to navigate the steps at the front. All chose the 3 course meal for a set price of 40 euros each and it was in every way worth the money. Beautiful setting with views over to the sea, complementary prosecco to start with and 2 separate amuse bouche during the meal, which included wines, water and coffee. It felt good to be able to dress up a little for a special occasion without feeling too stuffy. The staff were excellent and so was the food. In the fine dining style, so plates were not piled high, but there was enough for us. Covid was adhered to and we felt incredibly safe. We shall certainly be back on our next visit to Madeira, and maybe more than once! ~ Gloria B

Wir haben am Abend der Anreise hier zu Abend gegessen, unser Hotel liegt nur wenige Minuten zu Fuß entfernt, und waren sehr zufrieden. Obwohl ich der englischen Sprache nicht so gut mächtig bin, konnten wir uns gut verständigen und wurden 1A bedient. Vielen Dank und gerne wieder ~ Christine U

Concept met keuze menu inclusief wijnen voor uitstekende prijs. Kwaliteit van het eten zeer goed. Bediening heeft ondanks drukte tijd voor leuk inhoudelijk gesprek. Fantastisch uitzicht heerlijk gegeten. Reserveren gewenst! Een absolute aanrader. ~ Gerda S

We happen to be staying at a hotel close by to Cris and decided to try it out.. we were sooo glad we did as we came back 2 more times for dinner during our week long stay in Madeira. Service was excellent and the food was superb. I had the rack of lamb on all 3 occasions (could NOT get enough!) . My wife had the parrot fish the first time, rack of lamb the second time and beef Wellington on our last night. Every dish was cooked to perfection. We both agreed that this was the best restaurant we have been to in a very long time. ~ Michael T

Such a lovely place and quite classy. Staff were professional, polite and friendly. We were given a complementary glass of sparkling wine as we first sat down. The food was delicious and not too large portions. I had grilled sea bass, which was lovely with veggies, not sure about the passion fruit sauce with it though, but that was just me. Hubby's meal- breaded chicken, which came with a separate curry sauce + veggies which he enjoyed. Both had desserts, which we never have. Hubby had chocolate trio- 3 small pots of different choc desserts which he loved and I had pear with port, lovely and had a complementary glass of Madeira wine. Pricier than some but it was well worth it as the food very tasty and well presented, free entertainment - lady singer singing and theyf didn't rush us at all. We hadn't booked but they fitted us in as the Thursday night we wanted was fully booked by the Wednesday we went. I would advise to book especially if there are more than 2 people. Lovely ambience and clean modern toilets- just 1 toilet for each sex. ~ Kairen W
